New "Blogcast" Posted!

A quick note to say that I just posted my second installment of the “Imagine 2050″ audio blog. This month I interview a Syrian woman, born in Lebanon and raised in South Carolina. A very complex and interesting mix of cultures going on and she was not only perfect for the 2050 project but gracious enough to sit down for an interview.

Cheers!

Podcasting. For the Devil?

Among some traditional radio folks podcasting is a step down on the hierarchy of audio production (okay, the picture that is painted is more like 10 steps down). It’s true that there are a lot of poorly made audio programs out there that fall under the genre “podcast” and I understand that this is largely what turns traditional radio supporters against “podcasting.” but I’ve had a problem accepting that a simple distribution method can make good audio bad. Lets be honest, it can’t. Check out this radio skit from the British show “Listen Against.” It’s a short and hilarious send off to this whole “debate.”

Yahoo to silence podcast service

I can’t say that I have ever actually used Yahoo’s podcast service (or anything Yahoo related for that matter) but this might be of interest to audio folks who do any work in the Podcasting arena. Because there are so many effective podcasting services I doubt, or at least hope, this doesn’t hurt anyone’s podcasting endeavors. To read the full article click here.
